I am Robert.

I have been an occupational therapist since 1997 when I graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have worked in home health and skilled nursing and spent 9 years as OT brain injury clinical specialist in Pensacola, Florida. In April 2013, I began a job working full time in an optometry office where I do low vision, vision rehabilitation and sports vision training.  I also helped develop special glasses used in NHRA Sportsman Drag racing that have helped win over 40 national and divisional races. I have spoken to hundreds of therapists and enlightened them on how optometry can help with function and how a good vision background can help in OT.

I am also a member of the Neuro Optometric Rehab Association.

I am currently working at the Pearl Nelson Child Development Center where I treat vision related problems in children.

  1. Hi Robert, Thanks for all the helpful information. For OTs working in the schools, do you have any resources or handouts that you give parents about the impact that vision difficulties can have on their learning?
